Buying or Selling a Home?

April 5, 2011 - Updated: April 5, 2011

Are you thinking of buying or selling a  home?  If so, read on...

Sellers - I find that a lot of clients are spending too much money on renovations when they are thinking of selling - yes you need curb appeal and your home must show well, however, do not go overboard with renovations, as you may not recoup those costs and even worse, the new buyer may not like your taste in renovations!  If you are thinking of sprucing up your home prior to selling, painting is still one of the most cost effective and easy ways to jazz up your walls (keep colours neutral if possible).  If you have an older kitchen, something as simple as changing the hardware on the cabinets will transform your kitchen effortlessly, and always remember to declutter - less is more when you want to sell your home!  Call me for further tips :)

Buyers - Finding that perfect home is always a challenge in itself.  When looking at homes, aim to look past colours and furniture in the home and gear towards the layout of the home instead - everyone's taste in furniture and colours vary, therefore look past these two issues, don't be discouraged...your taste in furniture and colours may transport that awesome layout into new heights!
